Artist Profile
Working primarily in acrylics, Rachael aims to capture the playful side of florals and the peacefulness of Oregon landscapes. Using a combination of layered brush strokes and cheerful color selections, she hopes to create uplifting pieces that bring joy and warmth to your home.
Currently working as an artist part-time, most evenings and weekends are spent painting from her home studio. Over the years, she’s had the privilege of sharing her art through boutique home decor shops and vintage stores, as well as local pop-up markets. Rachael’s studio has also been a part of the Open Studio Tour, where she’s welcomed visitors into her space and had the joy of connecting with art lovers in her community.
Growing up, Rachael was always creating, ranging from sewing to drawing, and eventually painting. Creating became a way to give to others. Making something by hand was how she showed love, brought happiness, and shared a piece of who she was.
The first acrylic painting she created was for her son’s room. She quickly fell in love with the medium, and before long neighbors and family began requesting paintings of their own. In those early years, she learned to paint from the kitchen table while raising her children. Eventually, she spent several years creating decorative signs, which led to her first opportunity to sell work in a home décor shop.
Creating has become both a gift she offers to others and a way to stand against the heaviness of the world around her. She paints for the joy it brings her and for the joy it allows her to share.
Born and raised in Oregon, she has spent her life surrounded by its natural beauty. The scenic landscapes and changing seasons continue to inspire the cheerful florals and peaceful scenes that are at the heart of her work.
